Announcing ProxySQL.Cloud
Today we’re announcing ProxySQL.Cloud: a new SaaS platform for managing and monitoring MySQL and PostgreSQL environments from one place.

Why we built it
Most teams running ProxySQL at scale aren’t running one instance, they’re running dozens, spread across clouds, regions, and sometimes on-prem hardware too. Keeping track of all of it usually means a mix of custom scripts, a couple of monitoring tools bolted together, and someone who happens to remember which hostgroup maps to which cluster. ProxySQL.Cloud is our attempt to replace that patchwork with a single control plane.
What’s in it
Cluster overview. Health, throughput, top queries, backend pool status, and cost/usage are all on one screen for each cluster, along with details like region, version, protocol, and the managed endpoint. If you’re bringing an existing MySQL topology, backend discovery can probe your primary and replicas and propose a config automatically.
A full activity log. Every state transition on a cluster — creating, running, maintenance — is timestamped and attributed, and you can pull a redacted tail of pod logs straight from the same screen when something needs a closer look.
Configuration as YAML. Query rules, servers, users, and variables are edited directly as YAML, with a dry-run validate step before anything is applied and reloaded. Config can be imported or restored from a previous version.
On-demand and scheduled backups. Back up a cluster’s configuration and shape on demand or put it on a recurring schedule with a retention count. Credentials are never included in a backup and are re-provisioned on restore.
Real metrics, not vanity ones. Questions, slow queries, active transactions, and client/server connections are tracked with configurable windows from one hour out to 14 days, or raw.
Alerting on your own thresholds. Define a metric and a threshold, like max average query latency, and get notified when a cluster crosses it. Active alerts and history live on the same page.
Autoscaling policies. Set min, startup, and max instance counts, pick a scaling metric like client connections per instance, and define scale-up and scale-down thresholds with a cooldown period.
Cluster settings and metering. Adjust instance count and session affinity (sticky or spread), and track running instances, peak usage, and instance-hours right alongside them.
Deployment flexibility. ProxySQL.Cloud is offered as fully Managed, Bring Your Own Cloud (BYOC), and Bring Your Own Key (BYOK) — the same set of deployment models teams already expect from other SaaS platforms. That means you can let us run it, run it in your own cloud account, or keep encryption keys under your own control, whichever fits your existing security and compliance boundaries.
More automation on the roadmap. We’re building toward AI-assisted operations over the next several releases, aimed at cutting down further on the manual toil of running a large database estate.
